I recently moved into Philly from the suburbs, where a large purse was unnecessary. Upon moving into the city, I realized that with all the walking I would now be doing (we got rid of our car - bad for the environment, and VERY expensive in the city - parking, insurance, gas, maintenance - who needs it???) So, I told my husband and sister I was going to look for a fanny pack - OMG, they were both appalled that I would do that!!!!!!!!! So, I looked around, and found this perfect URBAN PURSE! It is leather (love), it is a (long) crossbody strap (safe and love), and it is the perfect size! I can put my phone in, a comb, a couple of other little things (like lipstick and mace, etc.). BUT, it also has an interior zippered pocket, where I can put my license (not that I need it now), credit cards, transit pass, etc., and it is inside a main compartment that is also zippered, so I feel that my stuff is triply safe - crossbody, and two different zippers for a pick-pocket to have to get through. It does have 3 exterior pockets, to just stuff little things into, like a pack of gum, or such. It is very light (which was a real problem with the suburbs purse). Finally, it is just large enough for me to stuff a small drink bottle into it. It looks fashionable (unlike a fanny pack), and allows me to be hands-free while walking around the city. Outstanding purchase for a city dweller - and good looking enough for a man to use and still feel masculine. I purchased a lovely medium tan color, but it also comes in other colors to suit a variety of tastes.
